Program Majors - Public Safety

An overall desire to help people in crisis situations is a definite prerequisite for the public safety field. Most careers in this area have minimum age requirements, but at South Tech you can prepare now for your chosen careers. By the end of your junior year in firefighting, you will already have completed the required curriculum used by most municipal fire academies in Missouri. Our law enforcement and homeland security courses offer you the ability to explore careers ranging from local police officer to FBI or border patrol agent. The senior EMT major provides the opportunity to graduate as a licensed emergency medical technician. You can work in that capacity while continuing your education in a paramedic program.
